Lt. Col. Christopher A. Landro, battalion commander, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, says goodbye to Maj. Bennet W. Walsh who is leaving Iraq to fight a different battle back home. Walsh was diagnosed with cancer before the Marines stepped foot into the combat zone, but pushed his personal health concerns aside to lead his Marines into combat. Walsh, 36, commanded Weapons Company and conducted conterinsurgency operations in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq. He is from Springfield, Mass.
