Staff Sgt. Nathan Abkemeier, 402nd Brigade Support Battalion, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, stabilizes Sgt. Kathryn Burke's head and neck after she was hit with a stone thrown from a crowd of onlookers. Burke was manning a gunner's hatch during a resupply convoy that went through the the crowded streets of Kandahar City when the incident occured.
