U.S. Army Sgt. John Lopez, a forward observer for the Scout Platoon of Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 221st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, alerts other members of his platoon to the bomb an Air Force A-10 Warthog dropped. Lopez, a Riverside, Calif., native and his platoon provided extra security in a recent fire fight in Laghman province.
