    Don Schloat, an 88-year old survivor of the Palawan massacre from San Diego. He is shown, Sept. 11, standing next to the small marker in Plaza Cuartel which lists the names of the eleven survivors of the massacre. The occasion was dedication of a second memorial to honor the 139 victims of the atrocity. Shloat has been an active participant in the effort to renovate the park.
