Teachers of the Al Amal deaf Institute, Al Rumaiytha District, Muthanna province, Iraq, received equipment needed to test hearing levels on their students Aug. 8. An audiometer was given to the school by from the Provincial Reconstruction Team, Muthanna, and the U.S. Army based at Camp Adder. The school received 80 hearing aids, two flat-screen televisions with DVD players and a generator. They also received school supplies and toys Sept. 14. The delivery of these items is the culmination of a 10-month long project. The PRT and U.S. military will continue to work with the students, teachers and community to make the transition from assistance to self-sustainment.
