A U.S. Soldier assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, scans a mound of dirt with his mine detector, on Eyebrow Island, near Tarmiyah, Iraq on Sept. 3. U.S. Soldiers worked with Iraqi forces to clear the entire island of weapons caches and other enemy activity.
