"I figured I'd design a mural because this wall was blank and I wanted to paint something that represented my unit," explained Perry, Iowa, native, Pfc. Corey Smith, a personal security detachment driver assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st "Dragon" Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, while he added some shading to the mural at the Dragon Tactical Operations Center on Camp Taji, Sept. 5. Smith designed the mural to include the 1st Cavalry Division patch, artillery crossed cannons, an Apache helicopter, an M109A6 Howitzer, an eagle, and Soldiers on a dismounted patrol.
