Lt. Col. Nicholas W. Katers, left, 84th Engineer Battalion commander, received a Purple Heart during a ceremony at Contingency Operating Site Marez, Mosul, Iraq, Monday, Aug. 3, 2009. Katers, a Green Bay, Wis., native, was injured when his convoy was attacked with an improvised explosive device May 24.
