Butler is an infantryman from State College, Pa., assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. The Soldiers of the 2nd Bn., 112th Inf. Regt. chose an area known as "the big concrete slab" to conduct their mission to catch insurgents in the act of placing IEDs or planning IDF attacks.
