Staff Sgt. Phillip Livingston, the transmission staff non-commissioned officer-in-charge for 8th Communications Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group (Forward), studies for an online course through National University aboard Al Asad Air Base, Iraq May 13. Livingston is on his third deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and uses his spare time to work toward a bachelor's degree in human resource management which he says will prepare him and his family for success in the Marine Corps and the outside world.
