An Iraqi king air 300 takes off on a newly refurbished runway, June 16. The aircraft was the first to test out the revamped runway, which was closed for approximately 5.5 months while repairs were underway. The completion of runway repairs wrapped up the first stage of an estimated, 15-month, 11-phase, $33 million airfield-rehabilitation project.
