U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Matt Byrd, a power production technician, 72nd Expeditionary Air Control Squadron, 451st Air Expeditionary Group, Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, prepares a ditch to lay power cables on May 17 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The Air Control Squadron is being built from the ground up to replace an outdated system being used currently at Kandahar Airfield.
