Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, administers the Oath of Office to Rear Adm. Mike Shoemaker. Shoemaker was promoted to the rank of vice admiral Jan. 22 aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) while the aircraft carrier was pier side at Naval Air Station North Island. Following the promotion ceremony, Shoemaker relieved Vice Adm. David H.
