Senior Airman Colby Nash, 509th Maintenance Squadron electrical and environmental systems technician, works on a broken transformer rectifier from a B-2 Spirit, Nov. 25, 2014, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. On the B-2 Spirit, systems require two different types of electricity: Either alternating current or direct current. The rectifier solves this problem by taking AC power from the generators and turns it into DC for other subsystems. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Alexandra M. Boutte/Released)
