Col. Heath Roscoe, left, commander of the 36th Engineer Brigade out of Fort Hood, Texas, gives a coin of commemoration to Sgt. Wesley Snead, a Beckley, W.V., native and a heavy equipment operator for the 615th Engineer Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, out of Fort Carson, Colo., for his performance in support of Operation United Assistance Jan. 14, 2015, at the Freeport Road near the port, Monrovia, Liberia. Roscoe thanked Snead and the Soldiers for their hard work as well as seeing how they were doing. The soldiers wore masks to protect them from dust and debris particles from the construction. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
