The Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel visited the United States Sergeant Major Academy, Jan. 15, 2015, at Fort Bliss, Texas. He gave a speech to 650 academy students and faculty to share his thoughts on leadership, humanity, America's role as a global leader and its responsibility going forward in working with our international allies and partners to forge a safer and more secure world. Secretary Hagel returned to Fort Bliss 47 years after he graduated Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training in 1968.
