Army Sgt. Brad Jenkins, Kentucky's only combatives master trainer, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 63rd Theater Aviation Brigade, displays techniques on Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Vaught, a paralegal, assigned to HHC, 63rd TAB, during a modern Army combatives class, Boone National Guard Center, Frankfort, Ky., Jan. 10, 2015. Jenkins said that combatives helps build the warrior ethos and improves Soldier confidence which carries over to other aspects of their lives.
