Brig. Gen. James Bierman, the commanding general of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, and the Western Recruiting Region, begins the Semper Fi All-American Bowl by congratulating the players for their accomplishments Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, in Carson, Calif., and for being here. “Every one of you is here because you are among the best and brightest in the country,” he said. “You stood out on and off the field because you showed character and leadership.” Selection for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl is a badge of honor and gives the opportunity to reward commitment to academic excellence and community leadership. The bowl will be nationally televised live from The StubHub Center in Carson, California, at 6 p.m. (PST) on January 4, 2015, on Fox Sports 1.
