Lance Cpl. Carlos Hernandez, a student with the Semi Refueler Operator Course and motor transportation operator with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, operates valves on the M970 semitrailer refueler Dec. 17, 2014 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, as he practices evacuating fuel from the trailer’s hoses. The SROC is being held aboard the air station to train 24 Marines with various units within II MEF to become proficient semitrailer refueler operators, an advanced military occupational specialty that Marines can learn after they earn the primary MOS of motor vehicle operator.
