Soldiers of the Jewish faith, deployed to Monrovia, Liberia in support of Joint Forces Command – United Assistance, attend a Hanukkah service via video teleconference, held by Capt. Menachem Stern, chaplain for the 92nd Military Police Battalion, out of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. The VTC of Stern’s Hanukkah service allowed Soldiers of the Jewish faith who are part of JFC-UA, stationed at Barclay Training Center, Monrovia, Liberia, to celebrate one of the biggest holidays of Judaism while deployed. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
