Aaron Smith made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, and Briana Smith during an address by U.S. President Barack Obama to an audience of 3,000 service members, military families, civic leaders elected officials and Gold Star Families Dec. 15 inside a U.S. Navy hangar on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The purpose of the president’s visit to JB MDL was to thank troops for their service. Also speaking at the event were Boor and Maj. Gen. Rick Martin, commanding general of the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center.
