Lance Cpl. Kyle Thatch, right, learns how to make designs with paper from a student attending St. Paul’s Elementary School in Pohang, South Korea. The meeting was brought on by a volunteer opportunity for the Marines and sailors of 2nd Bn., 9th Marine Regiment, who are currently deployed to the Republic of Korea for Korean Marine Exchange Program 15-15. The volunteer opportunity supported the local area outside of Camp Mujuk and built better community relations. Thatch is a mortarman with Company E, 2nd Bn., 9th Marines, currently assigned to 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
