Twenty-five Soldiers serving under Joint Forces Command- United Assistance partner up and discuss resiliency strategies in a conference room at the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia, Liberia, during a weekly Master Resiliency Training class Dec. 12, 2014. MRT teaches social and psychological skills to Soldiers to help them combat suicide, abuse and other possibly destructive decisions that Soldiers may encounter during their time in service and especially while deployed. Each Friday or Saturday, Soldiers from various units within the BTC are selected by their respective chains of command to attend the MRT class that doubles as a recreation day – a reward for their hard work and dedication. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
