U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Joanna Rankin fastens Airman Arthur Steinbrecher, a victim during a simulated active shooter exercise, into a gurney in the back of an ambulance during the exercise on Kadena Air Base, Japan, Dec. 1, 2014. The scenario was implemented as part of a mission focused exercise, which is slated to run through Dec. 4. During the exercise, Airmen will be tested on a variety of scenarios ranging from self-aid and buddy care to chemical attacks.
