A local acupuncturist shows Aaron Cook, a University of California San Diego volunteer acupuncturist, items in the herbal pharmacy at Vinh City Hospital at an acupuncture subject matter expert exchange June 13, during Pacific Partnership 2012 (PP12). Acupuncture is a new addition to the medical capabilities of PP12 and has debuted during the Vietnam leg of the mission. Now in its seventh year, Pacific Partnership is an annual U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic assistance mission U.S. military, host and partner nations, non-governmental organizations and international agencies designed to build stronger relationships and disaster response capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
