Various color guards from Denmark, Estonia, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the U.S., as well as other NATO allied states, perform a pass-in-review prior to a parade for the community in Riga, Latvia, Nov. 18, 2014, to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the nation’s day of independence. A U.S. color guard and soldiers from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, who are in Latvia for joint training, participated in the event with their NATO partner country as part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
