Gunner’s mate 1st Class Darren Larsen, from Poulsbo, Wash., mans an M2HB .50-caliber machine gun on board the Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105) as the ship departs Duq’m, Oman, after a routine port visit. Dewey is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations, and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
