Kieko Yamashiro, right, accepts a certificate on behalf of the 243 U.S. Forces Japan employees who work with the Marine Corps on Okinawa from Michael E. Kampsen and Kazunori Inoue Oct. 15 at the Okinawa Convention Center here. The presentation was a part of the 2014 Length of Service Ceremony for USFJ employees, which recognized employees who reached their 10th, 20th, 30th or 40th year of service for USFJ. A total of 855 employees were recognized for their service with the Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, Navy and Army and Air Force Exchange Service. USFJ employees are Japanese citizens hired by the Government of Japan to work for USFJ in various capacities, from interpreters to medical technicians. Yamashiro is a telephone operator with G-6, communications, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler.
