Tactical Helicopter Naval Aircrewman 3rd Class Kris Scotten is greeted by his daughter during the homecoming of Detachment 3 of the "Blue Hawks" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 78 at Naval Air Station North Island. HSM 78 returned to San Diego after a seven month deployment aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) during which the detachment flew more than 820 hours with two MH-60R Seahawk helicopters in support of a wide range of missions including anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare, medical evacuations and vertical replenishments and participated in several international exercises.
