Latvian National Guard soldier, Pvt. Luize Priedite is congratulated by Michigan Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Michael Stone, the assistant adjutant general for installations during her visit to the Joint Force Headquarters in Lansing, Mich., Oct. 16, 2014. Priedite is a new recruit to the Latvian Defense Force and earned the opportunity to come to the United States to visit military installations when she was selected as the top competitor in a "best ranger" type of event held in Latvia earlier this summer. The event was televised throughout Latvia as a promotional and recruitment incentive for the Latvia National Guard.
