U.S. Air Force Col. Rhude Cherry, 451st Air Expeditionary Group commander gives command of the 451st Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron to Lt. Col. James Mansard during an activation ceremony Sept. 30, 2014, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Cherry activated the squadron when he uncased the 451 EOSS guidon. With the 451 AEG being the Senior Airfield Authority, the mission of the 451 EOSS is to provide command and control of airfield operations and services on Kandahar Airfield.
