Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Steven Muckenthaler, from Mission Viejo, Calif., observes Sailors working on the forecastle from the bridge wing of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) while transiting the Balabac Strait. Sterett is underway in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group. Carl Vinson and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17, are on deployment in the 7th Fleet area of operations supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
