Fellow athletes, family, and friends cheer on the Marine team during a wheelchair basketball game in which the Marine team faced off against the SOCOM team, Sept. 29, during the 2014 Warrior Games. The Warrior Games are a Paralympic-style competition for more than 200 wounded, ill and injured service members and are taking place September 28 to October 5 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Marine team is comprised of both active duty and veteran wounded, ill and injured Marines who are attached to or supported by the Wounded Warrior Regiment, the official unit of the Marine Corps charged with providing comprehensive non-medical recovery care to wounded, ill and injured Marines.
