SAFWAN, IRAQ, OCT. 4 -- Two Iraqi girls at the Shohada Al Taff Primery (sic) School sit nervously in their classroom as American Soldiers in the schools courtyard deliver toys, clothing, school supplies and basic hygiene items to boys outside. At the time, they were the only two girls in the school, though the headmaster said he will have 140 boys and 28 girls within the next couple weeks. The school has seven rooms, but no doors in the doorways. The ceiling in one room has collapsed. In five rooms, furniture is scattered about as if the school had been looted. Outside, books lie in messy piles in the dirt.
