During the pre-flight of an AH-64D Apache attack Helicopter, Command Sgt. Maj. Neil Ciotola, command sergeant major of III Corps, gets strapped in the front seat as he prepares to get a ride in the helicopter, Fort Hood, Texas, March 9. The purpose of the flight with one of the aircraft from 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, was to put senior leadership in the aircraft to help them gain understanding of the Apache.
