Sergeant Maj. Robert VanOostrom, the outgoing sergeant major of II Marine Expeditionary Force, receives the Legion of Merit award for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service as sergeant major of II Marine Expeditionary Force during a relief and appointment ceremony aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 23, 2014. VanOostrom’s wife also received a certificate of appreciation for her devoted service and innumerable contributions to II MEF.
