A former active-duty Marine from the 1st Marine Division observes members of the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Band practice prior to the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Peleliu ceremony Sept. 15 on the Island of Peleliu, Palau. The anniversary marks the landing on Peleliu, in which Marines for the 1st Marine Division fought in and was one of the bloodiest battles during World War II in the Pacific.
