Steven Saymon, a retired police inspector with the Brooklyn Police Department, describes the gift being presented to the Adjutant General of the Washington Military Department Maj. Gen. Bret D. Daugherty. The gift includes a small piece of the Pentagon, a small amount of soil from the crash site of Flight 93 and a small pocket knife made out of the steel from the World Trade Center, which Saymon presented to Daugherty Sept. 11, 2014, at McChord Field, Wash.
