Marines and Sailors with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 14 pose for a photo with Marco Sinatra, the mayor of Vizzini and Eriberto Muscoso, brother of the event coordinator and director of the “Marines Meet Verga” project, in Cunziria, Vizzini, Sept. 7, 2014. The service members of SP-MAGTF Africa 14 were awarded plaques for the volunteer work they put in to help restore the beauty of Cunziria. After the awards ceremony the Marines and Sailors were privy to a local rendition of Cavalleria Rusticana, or Rustic Chivalry, a drama by famous playwright Giovanni Verga which tells the tale of a soldier who left for war only to return to find his beloved is to be betrothed to another man.
