    U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Sailors work together to plot sub-surface contacts in the combat direction center aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) during Surface Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Readiness and Effectiveness Measure, an exercise focused on the assessment of JMSDF and U.S. Navy's capability to conduct anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and assess ASW readiness and effectiveness.
