Lori Hickey, a teacher at Ansbach Middle High School, receives several certificates of recognition Aug. 20, 2014, for her work as a language teacher in Afghanistan from June 2013 to June 2014. Hickey received letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Defense Afghanistan as well as a certificate for the forthcoming Outstanding Civil Service Medal from the U.S. Army, the Secretary of Defense Medal for the Global War on Terrorism, and the Non-Article 5 NATO Service Medal. This was her second tour in Afghanistan teaching Afghan military members at several English language training centers.
