    Marine Corps Installations East       

    Rick Richardson, who represented Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune’s Cultural Resources Management team, was presented with a Secretary of the Navy Environmental Award at the Officers’ Club aboard Camp Lejeune, Aug. 8. Donald R. Schregardus, the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy (Environment), presented the award to team along with Maj. Gen. Juan Ayala, the Marine Corps Installations Command commanding general, and Col. James W. Clark, the deputy commander of Marine Corps Installations East. Richardson, native of Elizabethton, Tennessee, serves the installation as an archeologist. Cultural Resources Management conducted archeological evaluations in more than 40 sites and maintained a close relationship with the local community to protect sites important to local and Marine Corps history.
