Sgt. Timothy Padgett, an infantry squad leader from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, with Black Sea Rotational Force 14.2, is promoted by his fellow Marines at exercise Platinum Lion 14-2 in Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria August 1, 2014. Exercise Platinum Lion 14 brings BSRF 14.2 together with partner and allied forces in the region to enhance regional interoperability and reinforce partnerships. Platinum Lion 14-2 includes U.S. Marines and sailors from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment as well as soldiers from Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.
