Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Sabiniewicz (left), a Poznan, Poland native and the logistics noncommissioned officer-in-charge assigned to the 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade interprets a speech in Drawsko Pomorskie, Poland given by Mayor Zbigniew Ptak during a ceremony Aug. 1 honoring the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. The Warsaw Uprising was a resistance movement against Nazi Germany during World War II that lasted from Aug. 1, 1944 through Oct. 2, 1944 and resulted in nearly 200,000 deaths. U.S. and Canadian paratroopers were invited to participate in the ceremony as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, combined military-forces training designed to foster cohesive relationships between allies and demonstrate a commitment to NATO obligations.
