The Sapporo Airshow was the first time the MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft was displayed to the public in Sapporo. The Osprey display gave the Japanese community a closer look and familiarized them with the aircraft. O’Donnell is the deputy commander of U.S. Forces Japan. Shearman is a Hillsdale, Michigan, native and an Osprey pilot with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Ito is the chairman of the organizing committee for the Sapporo Airshow.
