Jonathan Alexander hugs Christopher Serra after Alexander was presented the Silver Lifesaving Medal, Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Coast Guard Station in Cape May, N.J., for saving Serra April 4, 2013. During the rescue, Alexander jumped from his fishing boat and swam approximately 30 feet to where Serra was two feet below the surface, retrieved Serra, placed him into a rescue hold and brought him to the surface.
