Shields, the commanding general of U.S. Army Alaska, along with special guests from the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Forces, led Arctic Warriors as they took part in USARAK’s annual Army Birthday Run June 26, 2014, just outside the perimeter gate of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
