I Marine Expeditionary Force

Lance Cpl. Nicholas Gilmer, an infantryman with Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, and Laith Mohammed Abud, an Iraqi police officer, pull security at an intersection in Rutbah, Iraq, as their squad leader interviews local residents. While the purpose of the patrol was to assess the civic conditions of the town, the Marines are helping the Iraqi police present a vigilant security presence, as well.
