    Wildcat family donates WWII memorabilia

    81st Readiness Division

    On May 30, the family of Sgt. William E. Dukes donated memorabilia that had once belonged to him to the 81st Regional Support Command Historian. Sgt. Dukes was assigned to Company I, 323rd Infantry Regiment, 81st Infantry Division during WWII. The 81st fought in the Pacific Campaign which included Angaur and Peleliu Islands in Micronesia as well as the Philippines and Japan. Here, Dr. John Boyd gives a brief presentation on military life durng WWII. The slides shows 81st troops during a religious service on board a transport ship just prior to battle.
