Two 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement vessels, one from Grenada and one from Antigua and Barbuda, practice high speed pursuit tactics during Tradewinds 2014, here, June 6. The vessels are part of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative “Secure Seas” program, aimed at bolstering capabilities of Eastern Caribbean nations to deter threats associated with transnational organized crime. Tradewinds is a joint, combined exercise in conjunction with 11 Caribbean partner nations to enhance the collective abilities of defense forces and constabularies to counter transnational organized crime and to conduct humanitarian/disaster relief operations.
